มีข่าวการโยกย้าย Project Tango จากทีม ATAP ของ Google ซึ่ง ณ จุดนี้ ดูเหมือนว่าสถานการณ์ของ Project Tango ยังคงคุมเครืออยู่ และไม่แน่ใจว่าจะได้ทำต่อหรือไม่
ถึงตอนนี้ สถานการณ์ของ Project Tango ของ Google นั้นยังคลุมเครือ ไม่ชัดเจน และไม่มีข่าวคราวความคืบหน้าออกมาให้ทราบ หลายฝ่ายจึงเริ่มไม่แน่ใจว่า Project นี้จะได้ทำต่อหรือไม่
Project Tango ก็คือ โครงการที่ Google ต้องการจะนำเทคโนโลยีที่ช่วยสร้างแผนที่ 3 มิติมาใส่ไว้ข้างใน smartphone และ tablet
แม้ข่าวคราวและความคืบหน้าของ Project จะยังเงียบอยู่ แต่ Google ได้ออกมาให้ข้อมูลว่าตอนนี้ ทีม ATAP (Advance Technology and Project) ของ Google ได้ประกาศผ่านหน้า Google+ ว่า หลังจาก 2 ที่ผ่านไปไวมากๆ ทีม Tango จะย้ายจาก ATAP ไปสู่บ้านหลังใหม่ภายใน Google
หลังจากที่ได้ทราบเรื่องที่ทีม ATAP ประกาศออกมา ทำให้หลายฝ่ายคิดไปถึง Project Google Glass ที่เคยอยู่ภายใต้การดูแลของทีม Google [x] แต่เมื่อ Google Glass มาถึงจุดอิ่มตัวแล้ว (graduating) และถูกแยกออกมาเป็นแผนกพิเศษต่างหากของ Google เอง โดยการปรับผังองค์กรใหม่นี้ Google Glass จะอยู่ภายใต้การดูแลของ Tony Fadell (CEO ของ Nest) แถม Project Glass Explorer (โครงการที่ทดลองวางจำหน่าย Google Glass ให้กับสาธารณะ) ก็ถูกยุบลงไป . . . ทำให้คิดได้ว่า การย้ายทีม ATAP ไปทำอะไรอย่างอื่นนั้น มีความเป็นไปได้ที่ Project Tango จะถูกยุบ
