เป็นเรื่องปรกติที่หลังจากงาน Tokyo Game Show จะมีการประกาศรางวัล The Japan Game Awards โดยรางวัล Game Of The Year ปีนี้มีเกมดังดิดอันดับเพียบ และรางวัลสูงสุด Grand Award ได้แก่เกม Zelda: Breath of the Wild หนึ่งในเกมที่ได้คะแนนรีวิวสูงสุดตลอดกาล ไป
ส่วนเกมที่เหลือก็มีทั้ง Resident Evil 7 , Final Fantasy 15 , Horizon Zero Dawn ที่ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นเกมดังๆอยู่แล้ว โดยเกมที่ได้รางวัลมากที่สุดตกเป็นของเกม Pokemon Sun และ Pokemon Moon ที่ได้รางวัล Award for Excellence, Best Sales Award และ Global Award Japanese Product โดยรางวัล The Japan Game Awards เป็นการจัดโดย Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) และมีการประกาศผลทุกปีในงาน Tokyo Game Show
