ส่วนเกมจากค่ายคู่แข่งอย่าง Horizon Zero Dawn ได้รางวัลเทคโนโลยี ยอดเยี่ยมไปครอง โดยรวมแล้วเกมที่ได้รางวัลส่วนใหญ่เป็นเกมดัง ที่แฟนเกมทั่วโลกยอมรับในความยอดเยี่ยมอยู่แล้ว โดยงาน GDC คืองานที่นักสร้างเกมจะมารวมตัวกันเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลในการสร้างเกม ทำให้รางวัลแจกโดยผู้สร้างเกมจริงๆ
