ผู้จัดจำหน่าย Microsoft และทีมพัฒนา Relic Entertainment และ World’s Edge ได้ประกาศว่าจะเปิดทดสอบ Technical Stress Test ของเกม Age of Empires IV ตั้งแต่วันนี้ถึงวันที่ 20 กันยายน 2021 โดยในช่วง Technical Test จะโฟกัสไปที่การเล่นแบบมัลติเพลเยอร์และมีโหมดฝึกสอน Mission Zero
นอกจากนี้ยังได้เผยสเปกคอมพิวเตอร์สำหรับเล่นเกม Age of Empires IV ซึ่งชาวพีซีเกมเมอร์ต้องใช้ CPU อย่างน้อยเป็น Intel Core i5-6300U หรือ AMD Ryzen 5 2400G พร้อมด้วยแรม 8 GB การ์ดจอ Intel HD 520 หรือ AMD Radeon RX Vega 11 และใช้พื้นที่ในการติดตั้ง 50 GB
